Wet desulfurization technology is widely used in thermal power plants, and it accounts for about 90% of the desulfurization process in power plants. The raw material limestone is easily available, low cost, and more economical. However, the limestone powder used in the limestone wet desulfurization process has certain technical standards.

The finer the limestone powder, the faster the desulfurization reaction speed

In the conventional technical parameters, limestone powder for desulfurization requires a particle size of 250 mesh or 325 mesh, with a sieving rate of >95%, and 325 mesh limestone powder has a better desulfurization effect. The fineness of limestone powder is an important factor that affects the desulfurization efficiency. The reaction contact area largely determines the chemical reaction speed. The finer the particles of limestone powder, the larger the mass specific surface area, and the contact area for chemical reactions per unit mass is also The larger the value, the faster the reaction rate and the higher the utilization rate. On the contrary, if the diameter is too large, the reaction rate and utilization rate of limestone will decrease.

The finer the limestone powder, the more the desulfurization product: the higher the purity of gypsum

In the limestone-gypsum desulfurization process, limestone powder needs to be added to water to make a slurry. Under the same PH, the smaller the particle diameter of limestone, the smaller the calcium-sulfur ratio, and the desulfurization efficiency can be greater than 95%;

The smaller the fineness of limestone, the smaller the density of the slurry in the absorption tower, the more reasonable the system running at low density, and the purer the lime produced. The density of the limestone slurry should be less than 1300kg/m3 (too high slurry density will affect the dissolution and reaction speed of limestone, resulting in a large amount of excess limestone carried in the gypsum slurry during dehydration; a smaller density is conducive to flexible opening and closing of the slurry supply and reducing adjustment hysteresis) .
